Windev Mobile different resolution android app

Startbeitrag von Giovanni Carella am 15.03.2013 15:27

Hi... It's long time that i folllow this forum, and here i found so many answers to my quenstions.
Now i have a new problem to solv and the "serch" button doesn't help me.

I created my first android application. This application can be run to smatphone (like samsung s3, samsung note, samsung note2) and tablet (like samsung galxy tab, samsung galxy tab 2, olipad, etc).
Do you have a good solution to deploy this program with right resolution? Because, for example, on a samsung galxy tab 2, all control are very small.
Now, the application, is deploy for a s3 resolution. Do you have any idea and example?

Please help me...

Congratulation for this forum. It's fantastic

I don't speak a lot of english, but if i understand your question the anchor property may be your friend.

You can use the anchor property of the controls, with this you can manipulate the behavior of the control in a window, independently of the screen resolution.

this works for me. i can see the results in an Ipad (IOS) and in a Samsung Galaxy tab 7 (ANDROID).

Thanks for answer.... but the problem is not on Samsun Galaxy tab 7 and Ipad (the anchor property are configurated fine)... then problem is on Samsun Galaxy tab 7 (big resolution) and samsung s3 or s2 (small resolution)....question: I create more project in relation to the resolution of tablet or smartphon???

Just my two cents here Giovanni...

I created my first Android App for the DroidX which is pretty big for a smart phone but way smaller than say the Galaxy Samsung Tab.

I think I correctly specified each project with the correct resolution in the 'Platform Description'.

Laying out the objects for the DroidX was easy because the default size of the objects (buttons, edit controls, etc.) seemed to fit the space perfectly.

But when I created an app for the Galaxy Samsung Tab, I had to manually resize them all (twice as high and twice as wide). Then I had to tinker with the font sizes of the edit control for the text outside the control and the input as well. A bit labor intensive but it all worked well except for the List control which always shows the selected text as very tiny compared to the text in the drop down list. I got a fix for that from Windev support and I may have applied it incorrectly because my client's production app has the selected text in a very small font.

So I think that for WDM 17 you just have to grin and bear and resize manually.

Maybe that will change in WDM 18.

P.S. I haven't used anchors because I am not yet ready to really torture myself with the app spinning around.

I have a solution for you problem.
You must create screens for each screen type, smatphone low resolution, smartphone high resolution and tablets 7' and 10'. At program startup, you detect the screen resolution and loads the correct window.

Take a look at this application from pc soft:
