Dear friends,
I'm back from holidays in England. I expected to be able to buy a prepaid internet SIM-card there, but nope, four phone shops only offered long term mobile internet contracts but none for a prepaid traffic volume. Maybe, there is something like that available in the UK, but information obviously has not made its way to the smaller towns of the country.
I have to apologize to all of you who sent e-mails and orders that have not been answered since April 17th !! I'll dig through the few thousands of e-mails which arrived meantime and will deal with all requests until today's evening. Again: I'm sorry!
Next, I'll publish my pictures of the inaugural UK-WinDev meeting.

You should try and but the prepaid sim at the airport. I live in the UK, and even for the prepaid they want your life history from the bigger shops:) If you want a "no strings attached" SIM, the best bet is the smaller shops which are not chains like T-Mobile, O2 etc, but rather a corner shop.
Cheers mate

Hi Ben,
I tried with four different shops in four different towns, I don't know whether they were subsidiaries of chains or not. None of them would offer a prepaid SIM card for mobile internet like those I can buy in most European countries, even in Poland it's a no-brainer. Next time when going to the UK, I'll prepare that much more carefully, I promise. Otherwise it had been a great time, except for the left-side-driving, but that's a matter of exercise for the first days.
