Hi Mike!
How do you know, if it is an Aircraft Scatter and not an Troposcatter or just a long MS? Are there any characteristics?
Btw: Great catches! ;-)

Hi Cha, thanks.

It can be difficult to identify the correct scatter mode, I suppose it comes with many years of listening. I can be sure that this recording was aircraft scatter by the way the signal appeared in a fairly sharp curve on the GTK display and then by the fluttery nature of the signal. Plus, of course, there was an airliner in exactly the right spot on the track from here to Liérganes and at the optimum height to allow a reflection, as shown in the AirScout screengrab..

Best wishes,

Mike
