Samsung Galaxy Tab 10 - Which Android SDK?

Startbeitrag von Paul Murray am 19.12.2012 08:05

Greetings all,

I am pretty much a novice with this Android stuff.

I have the Android SDK Manager installed but I am not sure what I really need installed for this device.

I checked the settings in the device and I can't find anything that says what version of Android it is running.

Any advice here will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Hi Paul

go in settings, about tablet, and you'll have on the right "android version". My galxy tab is currently in 4.0.3, but that may be different for you

Best regards

Thanks, Fabrice.

I did try that. I see the following:

System Updates
Battery Use
Legal Information
System Tutorial
Hardware Version P100.08
Model Number SPH-100
Firmware Version 2.3.4
Baseband version S:P100.08 S.EF17
Kernal version - k.sridhar@sep-33 #2
Build Number - GINGERBREAD.EF17

But I don't see anything that looks like the Android version.

Hi Paul

Android version 2.3 (2.3.4 in your case) are called Gingerbread.

Thanks, Viggo!!

Odd that they call it firmware...

Hi Paul,

Software is loaded into memory from a storage device, firmware is permanently in the device memory.

Well that is what I thought. That is why I said it was odd.

I guess that means that I have a Gingerbread version of Android but I don't really know the exact version.

Sure you do...

it says:

Firmware Version 2.3.4

that's the version of your system (and it's quite an old one too, there may be an upgrade available in the first line of that page "system updates")...

Best regard

Thanks Fabrice. Okay the firmware is not permanent. I have thought about firmware in years.

Maybe it is because I have Sprint, but I tried the firmware update and it says there is no update available.
