WinDev Mobile 17 - Map Control - Google Maps API library

Startbeitrag von Paul Murray am 29.12.2012 04:46

Greetings all,

I have a map control on one of my windows. I am getting the following error when I try to open the window:

"The Google Maps API Library was not found. This library is required to use the Map control."

The help associated with using the Map Control (Map (Control), Use conditions) states that the Google Maps API library must be on the Android device or the emulator. But it does NOT state where you can find this library.

I did some searches and found this link:

http://developer.android.com/google/play-services/maps.html

It seems to suggest that you need to install Google Play Services as part of Extras - Google Play Services. So installed in and then I included the following .jar file in my Android project deployment (under Java libraries): google-play-services.jar

But I still get the error in the emulator.

If someone can kindly tell me how to install the Google Maps API Library as part of my Android project deployment I would really appreciate it.

Thank you!!

Paul

Hi. I have android applications using Map control without problem.

You don't need install nothing if you have installed Google Maps in your device.

¿Its working Google Maps when you use the oficial Google application on device?

In my applications i only must get an apllication key from Google for use the control. The key is generated when you build the apk.

Th control doesn't works in emulator (you haven't installed the Maps application on it), only works in a real device with Google Maps installed.

Thanks, Ruben.

You are correct.

I somehow thought that the emulator would emulate google maps (like in a web browser).

I deployed to the device and I can now see the control.

Thanks again!!
