WB17 Drop Down Menu issue

Startbeitrag von Jim Carson am 14.01.2013 17:14

Hi all.

I am working on a Webdev 17 project and just noticed that I have an issue with drop down menu's on my main page template. Attached is an image that I captured to show my problem.

The drop down menu seem to work correctly showing on top of most controls, however when shown over a table....the table contents have top priority and the drop down is behind. I have switched "overlay" on the table with no luck. The drop down does not have an "overlay" option in its description.

Has anybody delt with this before? Thanks

Hi Jim

I think I remember a problem like that one, but it was localized to IE6. So that should be a thing of the past these days, right? Do you have the same problem on all browsers?

Best regards

Thanks Fabrice,

I tried it in FIREFOX. Drop down displays ok, but Menu is displayed at the top of page?
I tried in Google Chrome, displays correctly.
Also, I am using IE9 on my original example.

Any ideas? I don't want a user to have to use a special browser.

Thanks
Jim

Hi Jim,

I had this problem with all kinds of controls, not only with tables.
If I remember correctly, I used the foreground/background icon in the toolbar (also accessible via the control menu)
to move the menu up and the controls down in the z-order.

Regards,
Piet

Piet,
thanks for your input. I also noticed that tables are not the only problems. I tried to change z-order. The problem there is that my Drop Down menu is on the page template header cell and the table shows in a second cell also defined in the template. Changing z-order did not fix the table issue. I don't think that I can control the z-order in the template and displayed page controls together.

It's funny also that the drop-down covers the table column header as desired, but not the detail line items. I was able to move the drop-down into the top of the second cell on the template and it now works properly in all browsers.

Regards,
Jim
