Customising WDSetup

Startbeitrag von Ned! am 18.04.2013 14:10

I have changed the WDSetup project to give my setup program a better look and feel by changing the background image and a couple of static controls, so they display my company name instead of WinDev.

What is the process I have to do, to use this updated project once I have made my changes to it?

I've been using this WDSetup Help file
but to me it's not clear which file I need to put where. Does anyone have experience of customising WDSetup?

Hi Ned

Once customized, create the EXE and replace the previous/regular exe (in the windev directory/subdirectories) by yours.... Next time you generate an install, your program will be used.

Best regards

Hi Fabrice,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly, I have just created the EXE and copied into C:\WinDev 17\Programs\Data (replacing the original WDSetup.exe).

My new setup is created OK. :-)

When I run it, I can see the changes I have made but I get an error when it tries to modify the HF data files. "Error initializing the DLL for the automatic modification of the HyperFileSQL data files"

Do I need to include some extra DLLs when I generate the WDSetup.exe?

Hello Ned

There is a section in the help on WDModfic which is the program that does the file modification. The help has a section for "Necessary Files" whihc gives a list of all the dll's required
