[WD17] Automatic File Modification

Startbeitrag von David Egan am 30.05.2013 07:32

I have a small but irritating problem. Over time I have built up several HFCS locations which no longer exist but that get suggested every time I make a change to the analysis. I have tried taking out the tick in the left hand column, tried removing them via the red minus button on the right hand side but it all gets ignored! When I give it the go-ahead it still tells me that it can't find those databases & next time I run it, there they are again. It still works correctly on the ones that are physically there so it's just a nuisance more than anything.

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of these damn things? If I delete the .REP file will that fix it? Can I safely do that?

Hi David, imho, renaming the REP file will do it. The REP file management was good for restructuring several sets of data, mainly in a HF Classic environment. You can switch off REP file management within the project code of your app and restructure a certain data set only using WDMODFIC or HModifyStructure. Having an automatic restructuring of ALL data sets within reach of the REP file or even after searching the disk / web server will have sometimes desastrous consequences.
