[WM] How to calculate speed of Object?

Startbeitrag von Yogi Yang am 15.07.2013 05:51

I am experimenting with WM Express edition currently.

I have a need where in we need to calculate speed of an Object captured in mobile's camera which is stationary.

I searched the manual and found that we can get the longitude, latitude and speed through GPS but for this to wok the camera (mobile) should be moving.

Is there any ways in WLang by which we can calculate speed of moving object or track an object in camera of mobile?

this is NOT a wlanguage question, it's a data acquisition question... And the problem would be the same in any language...

Now you have a fixed camera and an object moving in the image... In order to calculate a speed, you need to know also:
- the time interval between 2 images
- the distance from the camera to the object (if the object is moving parallel to the plane of the picture
- in any other trajectory case, you also need to know the size of the object, and the distance from the object to the camera a the beginning of the sequence...

At this point, it's geometry, geometry, geometry...

Best regards

I think it is geometry with Trigo.

Anyways I did find an interesting article on this subject.

I would like to share it here for others: http://www.gizmag.com/location-tracking-smartphone-app/23946/
