FileDisplay Tif

Grouping the Tif's with the Bmp and Gif isn't working for me. I tried "image/tif" but it didn't work for me either. Is there a different syntax to use for tif images in WebDev17?

Thanks in advance for any help on this...

Hi Randall

According to my quick google search, the corret mime type to use is image/tiff (ie with TWO f)

Thank you, but it prompts the user to open the file using another program instead of displaying it in the browser.

Thanks again for any help on this...

Hi Randall

It looks like the browser you are using does not support the tiff format...
A quick google search shows that it's the case for several major browsers, and that you should consider changing the format of images used in your site for something that is more web oriented, like jpg:

Generally no browsers will display a TIFF file.

Most browsers support jpg, gif, png and some also support bmp. I have also observed that a few older version of IE seems to have problems in displaying transparent png files.

Yup indeed, I agree with Yogi Yang.
No browsers will display a TIFF file generally. But you can learn to
create a Tiff viewer with the help of some manual toolkits which can be customized by users according to our own favors to help display .tif files. I am testing with the related projects these days. Do you have any good suggestion? Thanks in advance.
