Looking for some advice from scheduling/booking expert. WB18 SOLVED

Startbeitrag von Jim Carson am 09.09.2013 17:38

I am developing an app with WB18. This app deals with reserving/booking reservations of snow mobiles (assets). The client has 36 assets to be used each day. They offer 9 different time slots that these assets can be used/reserved.
The time slots overlap
1 hr trip:9am-10am
2hr trip:9am-11am,
2hr trip:10am-12pm,
2hr trip:11:15am-1:15pm,
2hr trip:12:15am-2:15pm I
2hr trip:1:30pm-3:30pm
2hr trip:2:45pm-4:45pm
2hr trip:3:45-5:45pm
And a 3hr trip:9am-12pm.

Reservations are first come/first paid. I am trying to figure out the best way to calculate available assets for each time slot per day. So, if assets are out for a 2hr trip at 1:30, they will not be available for the 2hr 12:15 or 2hr 2:45 trips. Based on what is reserved, I want to have a looper via a query that will display the 'available' assets upon entering a new reservation. I have been able to create an excel table that does these calculations, but am not sure how to best apply it to a database.
If anyone has experience in this area, any ideas would be most appreciated.
Tia,
Jim

Hi Jim,

You can add a field using a timeslot status e.g. 0=free, 1=rented, 2=overlapped
I'm using a function to check if a timeslot overlaps:
FUNCTION TimeOverLap(t1,t2,t3,t4)
IF t3

Piet,
Thanks for your input. I will give it a try. I also am going to apply to a scheduler control.

Anybody to assist in making this a "Schedule" control out of this data?

Jim
