Hi. Has your dev computer had a windows update?

If so check your firewall settings. I had problems with webdev ftp upload . It was related to a change made by the update of windows

Hi Allard

I switched off the firewall and still the same errors. Thanks for your help

Hi Noel,

Probably this machine was upgraded to Internet Explorer 11?
With this upgrade a newer version of the WinInet.dll is installed which does not have all functions for a FTP connection.
I'm afraid that's all I can say, same problem did occur on a ftp client we did create for our customers, but we did not find a solution yet other then uninstall IE11.

Best regards,
Jean Paul

Hi Noel,

The message looks like it is saying the HTTP path and the FTP path are not pointing to the same folder. Check the 'Application Path' you have entered when you run your setup. This should point to the FTP equivalent of your http URL.

If you find the file nunzio.maltadigital.com/index.html on your FTP site, the folder it is int is the one you need for your application path. I would guess that you could put nunzio/htdocs/ in your application path and it will work.

Hi Jean Paul,

that is the problem :).
I uninstalled IE11 from win 7 and all is ok.
One snag : on win 8.1 there is no uninstall option, So back to win 7

Once again thanks

Hi Ned,

thanks for your help but I think it is best if I go back to win 7 as hunting for the problem might prove more timecomnsuming. It seems that ie11 cannot be removed from win8.1 but just hidden

Hey Noel,

It's indeed not possible to remove IE 11 from 8.1+ but I'm not sure when the FTP bug occurred in IE 11.
Cause it might be possible to just remove the update that caused it instead of downgrading your pc to windows 7.
Just check your "installed" updates and find any IE update and remove it.

We are trying to fix the problem by loading external dll's as soon as we fixed it we will post the solution here.

Best regards,

Hi David,

will try to do this sometime next week as at the moment I am uploading from another win7 laptop as I need to get amendmtents ready.

Thanks for your help

Hi all,

I had exactly similar programs in my Win7 machine. Suddenly my upgrade upload process didn't work anymore.

However, my trusted Total Commander file manager in the same computer had no problems transferring the same files to the FTP server!

Maybe PCSoft should not use Microsoft's components for important connectivity processes like FTP? This leaves us on Microsoft's mercy, which I don't like at all, as it seems that MS is systematically directing all internet traffic from their new operating systems to go through their servers, for who knows what reasons...

best regards
