So WB18, 3 IP's, Host 3 sites on 1 server, how to set up?

Startbeitrag von Jim Carson am 08.12.2013 02:32

This may not be a PCS question, can't find it the english help files. But, How is the best way to set up the WB18Server/ with IIS7 on a 2008 server to handle multiple sites. I want each ip address (i have 3) to run a different site. Do I need different IP addresses. Or is there a better way? Can i direct the different IP's to different virtual directories for each wb site or....(could use some help). not an IIS pro yet.

bye the way there are still too many of the install texts and other files that are still in french. pretty good thing i am doing the installing AND am being able to interpret this.STUFF.

Somebody has to have set up more than one site on a designated server, for the cost of having to have one, Any input would be most appreciated

Hey Jim, before you continue reading I have to warn you that I'm just suggesting what you should do.
These aren't things I have tried my self (not in this combination).
I have setup many websites using IIS and I'm running some webdev websites in our local network.
So have an idea what you should do, but again haven't tried it myself.

If you haven't done "anything" webdev will add all your websites in the "default" web server on IIS.
So if I open IIS I see my pc (DAVIDDELL (FAWLTY\david), if you open that you will see a folder websites.
This is where you should add more websites if you wanna put them under a different IP.
Depending on your config the IP's will show up in the binding tab when adding a new website.
This is also the place to bind domain names, etc.

Setup a new website and >>try

Hi. I have a server with 64 IP adresses and various WB websites. It's easy.

1) Create a website in IIS. assign to it the ip address you want.

2) You must install the WB website in the server and assign to the IIS entry you created.

3) Change the path in IIS website to point to new WB website.

Ready.

That's exactly what I guessed (I think), great to know
With 2, you mean install wb server on IIS virtual server right?
