WD18 - Code folding in code editor

Startbeitrag von John Marrone Jr am 08.05.2014 15:29

Is there a way to mark a section of code so the code editor will fold the code. I know it folds code like If, Switch and so forth. But I would like to take sections of code and hide it so I don't have to scroll that far to get to the code I want to work on. Thanks for any help.

Hi John,

A workaround would be to convert parts of your code to procedures.
Select the code and right click it to convert to a procedure.
Afterwards you need to fiddle a bit to move parameters to local variables.
It will make your code more readable.

Hi Piet

Right now I just put the code in a IF True Then End and put a comment that tells me what the code is. I was hoping there was a //** - **// or something of that nature. Thanks for you ideal.

Hi Alexandre

Thanks for the info. Now do I upgrade for that one feature that I would like?? The decisions we have to make in life. (:>

Hi John,

not trying to sell you anything.
But are you sure that's the only new feature in WD19 you like?
I mean, with "919" new features there must be 2 you features you want.

Best regards,

Hi David

I'm retired and I have 3 desktop apps that are distributed world wide. I only have to support these 3 apps and every 2 or 3 years come out with and upgrade which are usually minor enhancements. I am not going to get into all this mobile stuff thank goodness. I may upgrade to WD19, but just to keep my apps up to date. But yes, I only want 1 of the 919 new features.
