Java limitations for WinDev?

Startbeitrag von Scott am 29.05.2009 23:23

I am slowly migrating from Windows to Mac - however, the variety of languages on the Mac side is very short. I would like to use WinDev 14 to create Java apps that can be used natively on a Mac but I am told there are limitations regarding WinDev-compiled applications that rely on Java. With that said, I am having difficulty finding on the WinDev sites what those limitations are... so, the question is: what differences exist between a .EXE compiled for Windows versus a Java-reliant WinDev application?

Hi Scott

I'm not sure if there is a full list somewhere, but the best source of information on the subject is probably the help itself:
Each function comes with a series of icon indicating where they can be used...
If you browse through all the functions and watch the java one, you'll see easily (even if it could be a long process) what is NOT supported

best regards

You can't install HyperfileSQL C/S .
Other than that : In case that there is something you can't do in WINDEV
14, you can create it in pure Java. See Windev Eclipse -> Online help.
Beside, you can also use Netbeans.
