Error with Native MYSQL access

Startbeitrag von Dan M am 30.05.2009 03:03

I just installed WinDev on my laptop. Then I downloaded the Native MySQL access from PCSoft's download page:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Additionnal Modules for WINDEV 12 Update Date
Native MySQL Acces (Windows) May 23, 2008
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Now when I go into my Analysis and try to create a file by connecting to my MySQL Server I get the following error :

unable to connect to(IP OF SERVER)
unable to connect to '(IP OF SERVER)' database
native MySQL access error
Error Number = 27

The MySQL Client Layer may not be installed correctly
No access library to MySQL found, the LIBMYSQL.DLL module or one of its dependencies has not been loaded.
The MySQL client layer must be located in a directory declared in path
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I have tested to make sure I can connect to the server by using a program call SQL Maestro and from this computer I can connect to the MySQL server and database.

Then I did search on my hard drive and found LIBMYSQL.DLL was located on the hard drive in 1 place c:\Program Files\SQL Maestro Group\PHP Generator for MySQL

which is the program that could connect to the MSQL server and database.

LIBMYSQL.DLL is not located anywhere else ??

Do I need to make a copy of this file and save in somewhere in WinDev??

If so where? How do I make sure it is located in a directory declared in the path??

Any help will be appreciated !!

Thanks ... Dan

Antworten:

Chuck it in your %systemroot%\system32 directory. Best to grab the correct version from http://www.mysql.org first.

Hi Dan...

you need to copy it:

- either in your exe directory
- or in the windows directory (always in the path)

Best regards

OK, I copied libmySQL.dll to c:\windows\system32 and c:\windows\

still getting the same error?

This seems like sucha simple thing but ... still the same error.

What can I do next?

Not sure if this has anything to do with it but ... this is a new install of Windows XP with SP2

Re: Error with Native MYSQL access

Hi Dan,

Copying libmysql.dll into C:\windows\system32 should definitely work.

Make sure you are using a compatible version of the mySQL C library. I'm
pretty sure version 6 won't work.

If you download the following package, extract the libmysql.dll from
"lib\opt" and copy it into your C:\windows\system32 directory, I am sure it
will work. I tried it just now, and it did for me!

http://dev.mysql.com/get/Downloads/MySQL-5.1/mysql-noinstall-5.1.34-win32.zip/from/pick

Cheers...
Roger

Have you tried copying the libmysql.dll file into the C:\WinDev 12\Programs folder?

Tim,

BINGO !!!!

When I copied libmysql.dll into C:\WinDev 12 \ Programs\ IT WORKS ! no problem connecting tothe mysql DB on the server.

Not sure why it was not working in c:\windows\system32\ ????

It is still hanging up but it looks like my MySQL install is messed up according to the error I am getting.

It is saying the mysql client layer is not installed correctly or missing files and it hangs when it is trying to do the import?

But at least from the WinDev side ... all is working

Thanks for your help ... Dan
