WD14 keeps renaming my queries

Startbeitrag von Paul Turner am 09.07.2009 10:58

Can anyone please explain why WD14 keeps renaming my queries:

'Element xxxxx renamed xxxx1 outside current project. Do you want to use the new name in this project?'

It is driving me crazy!! If I wanted to rename something I would do it myself!! Need less to say it's renaming breaks masses of code and costs a lot of time. Anywhere I can switch this 'feature' off?

Rgds
Paul.

Re: WD14 keeps renaming my queries

Hi Paul,

in my experience, this happens when 2 files with different physical
names have the same LOGICAL names inside windev. It happened to me after
I tried to rename an object and did not followed the appropriate steps
(ie I copied and renamed a file outside of the editor, then included the
renamed object in the project (BAAAAAD idea).

But it could also be that something is broken in your project internal
tables/lists, in which case deleteting the .cpl directory and repairing
the project could solve the problem

Best regards

Thanks - I'll check those possibilities next time it happens.
