Check boxes in a AJAX table (WB 12)

Startbeitrag von Victoria Caballero am 27.07.2009 10:20

Hi everybody,
I've an AJAX table with 3 checkboxes as columns.
What I'm trying to do is when the user check the 1st checkbox I've to uncheck the 2nd and the 3rd one, so if the user check the 2nd checkbox I've to uncheck the 1st and the 3rd one and if the user check the 3rd one I've to uncheck the 1st one and the 2nd one. So the idea is that the user should be able to check just one of the checkboxes at the time (like radio buttons).
So what I was doing was to execute the code in "Whenever modified of..." for each checkbox column doing exactly what I explained before. But the problem is such code is executed "always". I mean if the user check the 1st checkbox the code in the checkbox 1 is executed, then the code in the checkbox 2 and finally the code in the checkbox 3. The same if the user check the 2nd checkbox or the 3rd checkbox. Is that normal or am I doing something wrong? I thought the code in each column was executed only when something change in that column but not always.
This is the image with the table and the 3 checkboxes just to make my explanation more clear.

Any idea about how can I handle this problem or any suggestion is welcome.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Victoria,

Mayby place the unmodify of the other checkboxes int the code

Column1:
If Column1..modified and Column1 = true then
Column2 = false
Column3 = false
Column2..modified = false
Column3..modified = false
end

Column2:
If Column2..modified and Column2 = true then
Column1 = false
Column3 = false
Column1..modified = false
Column3..modified = false
end

Column3:
If Column3..modified and Column3 = true then
Column1 = false
Column2 = false
Column1..modified = false
Column2..modified = false
end

Hi Marc,
your solution sounds very good but the property "Modified" does not exist (at least for check boxes) :-(. I've tried to find something similar but there is no property like this.
Thanks anyway.

Do you both talk about the same product?
WD and/or WB?

Re: Check boxes in a AJAX table (WB 12)

No, I guess we are talking both about different products. My problem is
in WebDev 12 and Marc is saying he did a test in Windev. So I guess
what I'm trying to do is not possible in Webdev. The property
"Modified" does not exist for checkboxes in an Ajax table (I've checked
in the editor and in the help).
I don't know why my post appears in this forum because yesterday I
posted this message in pcsoft.us.webdev but I can't see it there.
Regards.
