Yep

and it looks that with that version, I'll be completely out of a job... Just look at page 10!!! No way i can compete with that :-(

At the same time, it may be their answer to all the sexism accusation they received previously! ;)

Best regards

Hello Fabrice,

I think you mean page 11

In that case I won't call you again and take a course there...:spos: If you don't mind.;)

von Frans - am 14.10.2014 15:38
Yes, you can't compete. But they did not publish the expert's contact info yet.

Just getting to settle down wx19 and I'm too exhausted for such perhaps a jump from wx19->wx21. But I guess it support ios8/swift language in wm20.

King :(

von Kingdr - am 14.10.2014 16:54
IOS8 yes... I didn't see anything about swift... they support new type of libraries in the objective C code, though

Hello All

Now that it's out there, I am sure that there will be lots of questions - does it do this or that, so before everyone who speaks French and can read the brochure gets too fed up with translating, I will get in early :-)

Do the table breaks finally support sub totals on numeric columns ?

Regards
Al

Hi,

As a GRID CONTROL I`m currently using Farpoint Spread v8 (which is great) seems to my non French eyes that there`s one in WD20?

Cheers

Hi

if you are talking about a spreadsheet control, then yes

von Fabrice Harari - am 15.10.2014 09:53
Hi,

Yes I was . My existing Spreadsheet control (supports all Excel formulas), it can however be used as a DB-grid to as my example shows ;)

I had this(spread) since WD16! mohaha

Hi,

It would be nice if someone who speaks french and english can post the highlights here.
All my attempts to find a free online translate possibility for the girls-pdf are failed. :-)

Hi Tor-Bjarne

according to the commercial document, the new spreadsheet will support most of the excel syntax but not ALL (as they are always saying that was is not supported will be imported as #error#...

However, the most interesting part about it (IMHO, of course), is that we'll be able to create procedures in wlanguage and ADD THEM to the spredsheet "language", opening the door to basically infinite customization.

Best regards

Hi Tor-Bjarne

If you don't mind me asking

I like your spreadsheet but what do you do in Webdev? Do you use something similar?

How many products do your customers have? I find a drop-down with 11000 items does not tend to work well even if I use a looper instead of a table.

Hi Mujahid,

If you order a new French WX19 now you will be entitled the free WX20 upgrade so you can install already the V19 English or French version and await the V20 French (december) or English (May) version for free...

The dongles don't distinguish language of the WX product (except in their license numbering scheme).

Hi Ericus,

The attached picture was from my WinDev v19 Invoice app soon to be released.

Dropdown/looper would work for "some" of my clients, but we have approx 5-6 000 paying clients on our invoice package and this is not suitable for all.

For example an electrican would tend to inject all products his vendor can supply this is approx 57 000 items.

Then I have to forget about loopers/dropdown etc. Only a table will do for product selection
The same goes for customers some have few but some may have several thousands :)

I use my Grid/spread as a container for invoice lines as they are entered into an invoice.
Since my spread supports buttons I call eighter an Internal window with a table (pic.1)

Pic 1 70% reduced

Or they can just select from the products table (pict 2 & 3 even more reduced)

Using code controlled splitters.

Hi Peter and Charles,

Thank you for your kind words :)

WinDev is a fantastic tool and I`m so glad I made the switch from Clarion 3-4 years ago.

First now I noticed "WebDev" not "WinDev" sorry about that, in webdeb I would use a Looper for invoice lines and a table for products/customers.

a small testapp I made in WebDev 17 (or 16) shows hot I plan to implement it when I get around WebDev.
A test site - noting gets actually saved

More or less only the first button on the left actually do something (add lines to an invoice), but there`s multiselect products to invoice looper from web-table-popup.

Hi Tor-Bjarne

Your Webdev test app also looks good with a clean and tidy layout. I like the ability to select more than one product at a time

Even with the table lookups of customers and products you have a problem when your client has 4000+ customers or 11000+ products. It will take some time to display all and then allow the user to select.

In my application I use a dropdown but only populate the drop down once the user has entered a search string in an edit box i.e. "toner" will populate the drop box with only products containing the string "toner". In some cases I find even this a bit slow as there might be about 250 products containing the word "toner".

Oh well that is the joys of programming.

Yes - That`s why it`s a job for WinDev - perhaps with Fabrices replication at work against a Company database. ;)

The web is still (IMHO) just to slow.

Things i interest.
1. native access for maria db . not sure if there any different with native access mysql
2. postgresql 64bit . i can't use windev 19 64bit (the studio) becuase postgresql native only support in windev 19 32bit (the studio) .

so far this is the best windev brochure . alot of artistic image . i guess they change new photographer .

do you think page 29 model abit too young?

von ccc2 - am 17.10.2014 03:00

good desing

clean and elegant

von vmsoto71 - am 18.10.2014 00:49
Good look & feel. Really elegant.

Hope the data entered in spread could be stored in DB !

Only after seeing the usage of spread, I understand why PC Soft is introducing the Spreadsheet control in V 20.

Happiness Always
