[WDM19] LibPng error with android sidebar [RESOLVED]

Startbeitrag von KenKnight am 02.12.2014 12:13

Hi All,

I'm encountering a problem that I wanted to see if anyone else has encountered and overcome. In WDM19, as soon as I add a sidebar to a window, PCSoft injects some standard theme icons. One set of these icons is causing a compiler error.

Error returned:
C:\My Mobile Projects\...\Android\Generation\res\drawable-mdpi\wm_slidingmenu_indicator.png: libpng warning: iCCP: Not recognizing known sRGB profile that has been edited
C:\My Mobile Projects\...\Android\Generation\res\drawable-hdpi\wm_slidingmenu_indicator.png: libpng warning: iCCP: Not recognizing known sRGB profile that has been edited

I think it is possible that I can fix and replace the icons, but the hassle is the next time I push the compile button they are going to get overwritten.

I saw one other user that was having the problem with the main icon. I haven't seen that issue and if I remote the sidebar window the project will compile and deploy properly.

Thanks,
Ken

Well dang. Not long after I posted this, I had a coworker test compile on his machine and it worked. I immediately compared his Android SDK Manager to what I have installed and it was the "Build-Tools" that was causing the problem. I had to remove all build tools back to 19.1. I can now compile properly.

The rediculous part of this is that if he'd have had a later version installed, we still would not know what was causing this. Way to go google! :)

Cheers!

Hi Ken

if I remember correctly, pcsoft posted a FAQ about that problem and how to solve it with different SDK/versions

Best regards

Hi Fabrice
Guess it is FAQ 9749. I can see it in pcsoft's faq, but only when selecting the French version. It does not exist in the English version. I'll try Google translate on it.

Hi Fabrice
Strange. The French FAQ 9749 tell us to use référence 89 512, This 89512 does exist on the French "Liste des modules correctifs disponibles de WINDEV, WEBDEV, WINDEV Mobile", but not on the English version. Further more it is only for WM19 and not WM18 (as I use). I'm sure I cannot use the WM19 version with WM18 but for the people with an English WM19 would it be possible to use the French version ?

Hi Viggo

Clearly, continuing to work in an oder version of Wmobile while google and apple are busy pushing new OS versions all the time is NOT an optimum solution, so I do not know that you'll get any solution for 18.

As for 19, they do have a tendency to NOT publish a patch in English if nobody is asking for a solution to that problem.

So ask the free support about getting an English version of the patch by referring to the french ID. In my experience, when you ask for it, you get it in a few days max.

Best regards
