[WD19] How to get the available application languages

Startbeitrag von Sascha77 am 24.02.2015 13:26

Hi all,

I want to fill a language combobox in the inital part of my project.
Now I am wondering if there is an easy way to figure out what lanuages are available in the application?

i have tried all the "nation" functions but could not figure it out.

Hi Sascha,

I do not think this is possible. What we do, ourselves knowing what language is packaged in the application, we made a simple function that returns or check that information against a list of hard-coded nation* constants. We update this list of constants when we remove or add a language to the application.

Best regards,
Alexandre Leclerc

HI Alexandre,

thanks for the reply. That is basically the same approach I was implementing now.

But I can´t see why PCSoft is not providing such a function Out of the Box....

Hi Sascha,

Please, send a suggestion to PCSoft Free Technical Support. I made such a suggestion in Oct. 5, 2009. The reference number is: 49 043. Make the suggestion, use the same ref. number. This will increase the chances to see it appear one day!

Best regards,
Alexandre Leclerc

Just got a reply from PCSoft:

Hi Sascha,

Indeed the suggestion exists.

Unfortunately not every suggestion can be implemented. We thank you for this feedback.

Your request has been forwarded to our development team. You may still use the following reference if you contact the hotline for the same topic, ref: 49043.

honestly it does not sound very promising...

I suspect there's a carpet somewhere in the PCS development department with a huge bulge underneath; it's where most of the suggestions are swept?! ;)
