Startbeitrag von Peter van Vuuren am 22.04.2015 08:39

Hello,

Does anyone have experience with (unmanaged) Virtual Private Server (VPS) hosting (windows or linux) and running WebDev sites (incl installing a WebDev application server) ?

Greetings,
Peter

Hi Peter VV,

Long time no hear...
I have a VPS at a data center running with HFCS (remote DB), WinDev live update installation features and WebDev apps on it...
Works like a charm.

Cheers,

Peter H.

Hi Peter,

Same here, works like a charm.
OS is Windows 2008 R2 Web.
I use it only for Webdev sites, I have several sites installed already.
Recently I also started hosting my own company sites on the VPS.

Regards,
Piet

Ok, don't hate me.... ;)

I'm reposting some info about our new Webdev Hosting Platform since it seems relevant to this thread.

Here's a shameless plug for our new Fully Managed Fully configured WEBDEV application server hosting solution.

Go to www.oxsys.co.uk and Choose 'hosting' from the 'products' menu for more info.

No bandwidth limits, fully integrated backups (30 days),
200GB of Raid Disk
Windows 2012 R2 Server
Full RDP access via secure VPN
Dedicated Firewall
MYSQL, SQL Express, HFSQL preinstalled
No limit to number of Sites
Included Static IP address
Apache based
Webdev App Server upgrades are included every year

This is a totally different proposition to other shared solutions or other basic VPS solutions. This is a high performance turnkey system, ready to go, fully maintained with redundancy.

Ok, so it's more expensive than other solutions but it's a totally different proposition. We even help you to install SSL certificates etc.

Support by phone to UK number during UK business hours

If you need a custom configuration (More disk/ram/etc) then contact us. (Use the form on the website)

Cheers,

Bob
