Success in the UK

Startbeitrag von Tom Graham am 21.08.2002 17:03

I thought this would be the best place to ask the question which has baffled me for almost four years, and something which I have never been able to find answered on ANY of her websites, including this one: what on earth happened to Lutricia McNeal in the UK???

In 1998 she was one of the most popular new female artists. I expected her to come back with a new album the next year. She never did. To me, that just doesn't make sense. So many artists battle for recognition - she received it, and then disappeared.

Why? Was she getting too big? Had she never intended to be world famous?

I know I can still order her albums from abroad, but it's not the same as hearing them on the radio.

Can you answer my question?

Hi Tom,
thanks for your feedback.
I'm afraid I don't have a concrete answer as to why Lutricia's success stopped in the UK. But I know that the music business is really crazy.
When she released her second album in 1999 I think it wasn't released in the UK at all (as far as I know), so I assume it has something to do with the Arcade Group and that they didn't manage to find a partner in the UK.
I know that Lutricia has high ambitions, so I seriously doubt it was her fault.
But I can tell you one thing. I heard rumors that PERFECT LOVE and METROPLEX will possibly be released in the UK too. There are a lot of things in store for Lutricia at the moment, so maybe she'll be back soon. Let's keep our fingers all crossed and in the meantime we could all try to support her via the internet.
Greetings -Jamie

Hi Guys.
It would be great for Lutricia to bring some new stuff out in the UK. I spoke with Telstar/Wildstar who were her record company in the UK and they confirmed that Lutricia is no longer signed with them. I am sure she could easily get a recording contract here, after all, Stranded and Ain't That Just The Way were HUGE hits here back in '98.
Jamie, any idea who we should email in regards to advising of Lutricia's popularity over here in order to help her chances of releasing new material in the UK?

I feel that everything in life happen's 4 1 reason or another.
I got hold of Lutricias new album from a friend that came back
from Japan with it. My feeling is that Lutricia will not only make
old fans like me happy, but more importantly create an even bigger
fanbase... She has matured so much as a singer and the album is
actually ranging from Good to Fantastic. I find it most unlikely that
no UK label picks it up !
